Mr Cyril Pereira has been based in Hong Kong since 1985. After 15 years as Director, Newspaper Operations of the South China Morning Post Group, and 12 years as publisher of Asia Magazine (concurrently), he formed Telesis Consulting Ltd which works with newspaper, magazine and online media across Asia on market positioning, competitive strategies, growth and profitability issues.
His industry service covers four terms as chairman of SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia), 10 years on the Publishing Industry Training Board of the Hong Kong Government, and co-chair of the recently inaugurated Asia-Pacific Publishing Convention (APC). Mr Pereira also guest lectures media masters' classes at the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Hong Kong Baptist University.

Achievements
Winning approval from Mr Rupert Murdoch for the HK$650m Press Centre project for SCMP when News Ltd bankers imposed a moratorium on investments in 1992.
Negotiated prepayment for the Tai Koo premises from SWIRE, to fund new presses and construction at Tai Po by 1995. A world-class pioneering facility which has become a global model for building aesthetics/product quality/manpower productivity. International Awards for quality since 1988.
